I get approximately 10 emails every week from people who are saying they have the best comp plan, best products and how their company can make me rich – you probably do too. I get so sick of them – but this time I decided to take 4 of them and just for kicks to check out their comp plans. Now I am not doing a review on them – rather I wanted to check out the simplicity of their comp plans.

These are the companies I checked out:

• Unicity
• Monavie
• Melaleuca
• Vemma

Do you know that of all 4 I researched over the net  – there were more than 10 pages to read??? I never got past the first 4 on any of them – my attention span is not that long! Goodness, build 5 across 7 levels deep,  minimum amounts of volume on certain legs, build 4 legs then go deep, bronze, silver and ruby executives,  one even had over 24 levels!!!!  Talk about confusing!! I need a degree in SOMETHING to even understand how ANY of these plans work – in fact I would be spending most of my time working out how the comp plan ACTUALLY works for me and makes me money rather than building my business.

I can tell you in 3 lines how my business works – binary, unlimited depth, no minor or major leg disadvantages. There are 3 levels, Associate, Consultant and Executive. In fact you can earn up to $13 500 PER WEEK just by being a consultant. That’s it in a nutshell.

Does your comp plan allow you to tell your future partners in 3 lines or less how they can make money? The ones I have mentioned above certainly don’t that’s for sure!

Sometimes we just make life a little too difficult for our own good don’t we?

One of the biggest problems Network Marketing face is lack of leads. Let’s face it no leads – no business. Of course if you want you can pay for leads – but the best leads are the ones you are able to generate yourself. Well that’s great you may say – but how do I build my own list of leads?

Let’s explain. The first thing every online network marketer must have is a lead capture page. A lead capture page is simply an optin box (like the one at the top of this page), that allows you to collect people’s details – such as name, email address and phone number. Now in order to have someone fill in the form you need to be offering something of value. Something they will receive in return for giving up their email address.

Something of value could be a range of things, from a ‘How To’ training video you made yourself, a newsletter series or report of some kind. As long as what you are offering is of value and can provide a solution to a problem a person may have – people will subscribe.

Once you have your optin form box set up you need to generate traffic to it. If no-one knows it exists – no-one will optin and subscribe to what you have to offer. Traffic can come in all sorts of ways – but the best is free. You can get free traffic to your optin box by using articles, video marketing and other social media sites like facebook and twitter.
These are all great ways to get visitors to your optin form. Once they subscribe, your job is then to build a relationship with them so they stay subscribed, and ultimately become customers.

If you’re a network marketer then you are probably very familiar with what I am about to write about. Do you that most involved with network marketing go through a stage of self doubt? A stage where they have been working so hard that they don’t seem to be getting the results they want and they wonder if all there hard work is going to pay off? A stage where they begin to wonder if what their spending all their time on is actually a waste of time? A stage where they wonder how in the world could a new person they sign up ever duplicate what they have done?

You know at the end of the day this is the MLM business scenario – you have a lead, you direct them to a website or a presentation or a 24 hour call, you follow up with that lead and either sign up or not. Simple. 4 steps easy.

1.Send lead to info
2.Follow up with lead
3.Either sign lead up or not
4.Rinse and repeat with new sign up

Most companies operate this way – and it is an extremely duplicable system to work with. It is one that you can teach anyone. What you cannot teach a new person though is how to market their new business. Yes you can give them ideas on how to – but you need to remember this – it is not your job to teach the new person in your company how to market their business, yes it is your job to show them the options on how to generate their own leads but ultimately it is up to them on how to generate their own leads.

But you cannot expect someone to generate leads or build their business just as you have. Yes they will use the same duplicable system once they have leads – but how they get the leads is not your problem. Do not put unrealistic expectations on yourself that you have to teach your new business partner to generate leads exactly the way you have.

Never forget this – the new person you bring in is different to you – regardless of whether you know them personally or not. The may find things a lot easier than you, they may prefer to work offline, they may have a much larger network than you, they bring to the table a whole lot of new skills that you may or may not have.

The message here is to not be so hard on yourself if you feel like your getting nowhere. Remember that how you market your business does not mean the next person has to market it the same way. So if your at a stage where you are trying to generate your own leads don’t feel like what your doing has to be duplicable for the person you bring in – because it doesn’t.

Don’t be so hard on yourself – success will come, as long as you accept that the duplication part of the business is the 4 steps above, and NOT in the way you generate leads.
